Liz Roff is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work spans sculpture, printmaking, and textile work with ideas rooted in material deconstruction and reconstruction.

My practice is rooted in imagery and sensation. Mixing printmaking with sculpture, I layer 2D images with 3D texture, enhancing sensations once felt. The sculptures incorporate a mix of found objects, hand-built structure, and natural materials.
My practice comes from a place of care, caring for my materials, each one in conversation with the next. I use familial, nontraditional materials as a means to push the boundaries of normal printmaking methods. By replication, abstraction, and materially weaving these in a physical form, the memory becomes tangible. The memory is concrete within the space created for it.
I am inspired by natural structure and the trace of time within it. Broken branches and stretched tights act as skins, fraying thinning, and stretching from the tension, Layered together, image and material converse, blurring the boundaries between what was and what is.
